There are some birthdays that simply call for indulgence, and my daughter’s 24th was one of them. To mark the occasion, we spent the day at World Spa in Brooklyn, New York—a luxurious escape that felt like a world away from the city bustle. It was my first visit, and certainly won’t be my last.
My husband surprised both of us with 50-minute Pure Relaxation massages, and they were just that—pure bliss. The therapists had a calming touch, and by the end, I felt every ounce of tension melt away. Emerging from our treatments, we were greeted with glasses of pink champagne—a sparkling touch that made the moment feel all the more celebratory.
From there, we set off to explore the spa’s impressive array of amenities. World Spa is known for offering a global bathing experience, and it did not disappoint. We wandered through various saunas and steam rooms, each inspired by different cultures and wellness traditions. The Himalayan salt room was especially serene, while the clay room offered an earthy warmth I didn’t know I needed.
We soaked in inviting hot tubs, detoxed in aromatic steam rooms, and even peeked into the cold plunge pool—though I must confess, I left the brave dipping to my daughter. (She made it look effortless, but I was perfectly happy watching from a cozy, warm corner.)
It was a day filled with laughter, relaxation, and quality time, and I couldn’t think of a more beautiful way to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. If you’re looking for a way to unwind, reconnect, or simply treat yourself or someone you love, I highly recommend a visit to World Spa. Whether you’re soaking in warmth or sipping champagne, it’s an experience that soothes both body and soul.
